4 steps to save at Railcard

1. Sign up for a 3 year Railcard

As we answered under the ‘Can I get a discounted Railcard’ FAQ, you can save £20 by opting for a three-year Railcard. For instance, instead of paying £90 over 3 years for the Family & Friends Railcard, you could get it for £70 with a one-time payment.

2. Make sure to connect your Railcard with Oyster and Trainline

Did you know that you can connect your Railcard for off-peak discounts with Oyster and Trainline? Head over to the ‘Digital Railcards’ section in the FAQs to learn how you can link your accounts to begin saving. 

3. Book in advance

The National Rail releases over half a million advanced tickets every week for less than £10. These tickets can be purchased up to 12 weeks in advance and provide excellent value. Best of all, your Railcard can be applied to these tickets for another 33% or 50% off depending on your card.

4. Exclusive discount codes

16 - 25 Railcard

• Anyone aged between 16 - 25 years old or studying full-time
• Average annual savings of up to £192

26 - 30 Railcard

• Anyone from 26 - 30 years old
• Average annual savings of up to £258

Family & Friends Railcard

• Up to four adults (33% off) and four children aged 5 - 15 (60% off)
• Average annual savings of up to £116

Two Together Railcard

• Two people over 16 who travel together
• Average annual savings of up to £97

Senior Railcard

• All people over 60 years old
• Average annual savings of up to £96

Disabled Persons Railcard

• Those who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, have epilepsy or receive disability-related benefits
• Average annual savings of up to £113

Network Railcard

• Specific to London and Southeast England, anyone over 16. Maximum group size of four adults and four children
• Average annual savings of up to £138

16 - 17 Saver

• Anyone 16 - 17
• 50% off most rail fares with average annual savings up to £367

Veterans Railcard

• Anyone who served at least one day in the Armed Forces
