How do I use my Railcard discount code?

1. Click on one of our deals. A code will appear in the box if one is required to redeem the discount. Make sure to copy the code.
2. Choose the Railcard which you are eligible for and best fits your situation.
3. Locate the ‘Enter Promotional Code’ box above where you are asked who the Railcard is for.
4. Paste and apply. Your discount will automatically come off your order total.

Can I get a discounted Railcard?

Yes, there are two ways to get a Railcard for less: 3-year Railcard plans or our exclusive promo codes. You can save an extra £20 by choosing the 3-year plan over annual plans, while our exclusive codes offer 5% off the price of your Railcard.

Is there a Railcard student discount?

Student beans sometimes have student discounts for an extra 2% or 5% off the 16 - 25 Railcard. Students who open a banking account with Santander can often receive a 16 - 25 Railcard for free.

How much does the Railcard cost?

All Railcards, aside from the Disabled Persons Railcard, cost £30. The Disabled Railcard is only £20.

Can I claim a refund if I don’t use my Railcard?

Traditional Railcards cannot be refunded. However, if you purchase a digital Railcard and do not download it, you can get a refund in the first 14 days. You must contact Railcard via email or post to cancel your contract.

Can I use my Railcard with Trainline?

Yes, go to your Trainline account and access the edit or add a passenger section. Select ‘Loyalty and discount cards’ to add the Railcard. Once added, your Railcard will automatically be available when booking future train tickets. 

You can also add Railcards for all your passengers when booking group travel.

How can I link my Oyster card with my Railcard?

Visit an Oyster ticket shop or designated staff at the Tube, London Overground or Elizabeth Line to connect your Railcard to your Oyster card. Show your National Railcard to have your discount applied to all off-peak travel within London until the expiry of your Railcard.

What types of Railcards are there?

• 16 - 25 Railcard: Anyone aged between 16 - 25 years old or studying full-time
• 26 - 30 Railcard: Anyone from 26 - 30 years old
• Family & Friends Railcard: Up to four adults and four children aged 5 - 15
• Two Together Railcard: Two people over 16 who travel together
• Senior Railcard: All people over 60 years old
• Disabled Persons Railcard: Those who are visually impaired, hearing impaired, have epilepsy or receive disability-related benefits 
• Network Railcard: Specific to London and Southeast England, anyone over 16. Maximum group size of four adults and four children
• 16 - 17 Saver: Anyone 16 - 17
• Veterans Railcard: Anyone who served at least one day in the Armed Forces

What happens if I lose my Railcard?

Login to your Railcard account. Then go to ‘Manage my Railcard’ so you can apply for a replacement card. One replacement can be requested per year and it does cost £10.

Why do Railcards not work before 10am?

The Railcard is to promote off-peak travel via trains. From 5am to 10am is peak time and you will not receive a discount for travel at this time.
